Navigating a DWI or chemical use concern can feel stressful and overwhelming, especially when paperwork, timelines, and court requirements are involved. Our role is to make the process clear, respectful, and as straightforward as possible.
At LiveWell Counseling, we provide independent chemical dependency evaluations for individuals in North Dakota and Minnesota. These assessments are designed to determine the appropriate level of care or recommendation and not to label, shame, or judge.

What to Expect
During your evaluation, we’ll have a private and professional conversation about your background, substance use history, and current situation. We will also review any supporting documents such as police reports, driving records, or prior treatment information.
After completing the interview and required screening tools, you’ll receive:
A professional, unbiased evaluation that meets court, probation, or DMV requirements
A written summary outlining results and recommendations
Referrals or resources (if applicable) to support next steps
Every assessment is conducted with discretion, empathy, and respect. Our goal is to provide a clear and accurate recommendation based solely on your individual needs and current patterns, not assumptions or outside pressures.
Appointments are 45 minutes in length and primarily scheduled via telehealth or online from the comfort of your home. For those that prefer an in-person appointment, there is some availability for this but times are booked quickly.
There is no obligation to continue services outside of the assessment and you will receive written recommendations within 48 hours unless additional time is required.

Payment
Chemical dependency evaluations, DWI assessments, and general substance use assessments are $130 per assessment. LiveWell does not take insurance for these assessments.
Payments can be made via most major credit and debit card holders and cash if in person. Payment is due immediately after the assessment. If payment is not made, recommendations will not be provided until that is completed.
If you need the assessment scheduled and recommendations within 48 hours due to legal time constraints, please indicate when completing your intake form, and note that there is an additional charge for this more immediate response.
