Founder & Lead Therapist of LiveWell Counseling Services
Hey! I am the owner and lead clinician of LiveWell Counseling Services. Through my over 10 years in the field, I realized there was something wrong with how disconnected therapy had become from real life. So often the mental health system only manages the symptoms instead of treating the root causes, and LiveWell Counseling was built to change that.
Through my own personal experiences and healing, I understand how hard it can be to ask for help. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable place for anyone I work with to process deep sh*t (just being real) and grow towards their very own version of “living well.”
Your story matters, and so does your healing.
Therapy for ages 10+, teens, and adults in Moorhead, with telehealth options in Minnesota and North Dakota. Special interests in business coaching and speaking on mental health related topics.
What working with me looks like
I bring warmth, honesty, and direct conversation into the therapy room. I like to say, “no BS, just breakthroughs.” We can talk about the hard stuff, make room for humor, and be real about what’s working— and what isn’t.
I want to understand more than the symptoms that brought you in. We’ll look at your experiences, relationships, coping patterns, and the pressures you’re carrying. Together, we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck and work toward changes that matter to you.
My approach is more holistic and trauma-informed, I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My background in both social work and alcohol and drug counseling also informs how I approach trauma, substance use, and recovery.
The things we can work through
My areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, boundaries, codependency, divorce, emotional eating, addiction and recovery, burnout, professionals & business owners, and life transitions.
Maybe you understand your patterns but still find yourself repeating them. Maybe you’re used to taking care of everyone else, or you’re functioning well on the outside while feeling overwhelmed underneath it all.
As a business owner myself, I understand how difficult it can be to turn your brain off when there’s always something else to do. I also enjoy working with professionals, perfectionists, and entrepreneurs who want to explore work stress, boundaries, burnout, and the pressure to keep achieving.
Education, credentials & experience
I earned my Master of Social Work from Campbellsville University, with a clinical social work focus, and my Bachelor of Social Work from Minnesota State University Moorhead, with a minor in psychology. I also completed addiction studies at Mesabi Range Technical College.
My background includes child protection and family services, substance-use assessments and treatment coordination, residential treatment clinical supervision, intensive outpatient counseling, and psychotherapy.
Working across these settings has shaped how I see mental health: people’s struggles are connected to their experiences, relationships, and the systems around them. My experience in both social work and addiction counseling informs how I support clients with overlapping concerns.
Beyond the therapy room
Outside of work, you’ll often find me lifting weights, grabbing coffee & thrifting, taking a Solidcore class, at a comedy show, climbing a mountain, or walking my doggo, Theo. Any day could be a combination of those, truly.

Business coaching & speaking
My work also extends to business coaching, speaking, and workshops, informed by my experience as a therapist, practice owner, and commercial building owner.
Through coaching, I help business owners clarify priorities, explore boundaries, and navigate decision fatigue and the pressures of leadership. Business coaching is a separate service from psychotherapy.
My presentations bring a down-to-earth perspective to mental health, with practical ideas people can use afterward. Topics include boundaries, burnout, business ownership, compassion fatigue, and the ways trauma and attachment affect everyday life.
I’ve presented to audiences including the BCOW Mental Health Spring Workshop, Cass County Bar Association, HIA Hospice, and most recently the North Dakota Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics annual Symposium.
